This means that our center has completed a rigorous set of expectations that are independently evaluated and verified. Med-Comm provides a medically<br \/>approved, unified system to dispatch units to medical emergencies including systemized caller interrogation and pre-arrival instructions. Using this system we assist the patient through the caller. We can prompt each caller with basic instructions that can help sustain life or even help bring a new life into the world.<\/p><\/div><ul  class=\"x-block-grid man two-up\" ><li  class=\"x-block-grid-item\" ><img src=\"https:\/\/tcad.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/com-med-new-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"392\" height=\"252\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-somewhat\" \/><\/li><li  class=\"x-block-grid-item\" ><img src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/comms3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"725\" height=\"544\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-204\" \/><\/li><\/ul><div class=\"x-text e41-11 m15-4 m15-5\">Our Emergency Medical Dispatchers (EMDs) manage our resources moment by moment. Using System Status Management \n(SSM) they are able to move EMS units to optimal locations in order to provide the quickest response regardless of the \nlocation of the next call.<\/div><div class=\"x-text e41-12 m15-4 m15-5\">Constant communication with our responding units through radio and Mobile Data Terminals (MDT\u2019s) keep information current. Our EMDs can follow our responding units on their map and provide turn by turn instructions when needed.<\/div><div class=\"x-text e41-13 m15-4 m15-5\">Ongoing quality improvement assures that our EMDs are following protocol, using SSM, and continue to provide the highest level of pre-hospital emergency care available.<\/div><div class=\"x-text e41-14 m15-4 m15-5\">The EMDs receive several hours of training before they are scheduled to become certified. Once they have received the EMD \ncertification they return to training where the trainer and the communications major will review the progress and determine the \ncompletion of training.<\/div><div class=\"x-text e41-15 m15-4 m15-5\">Becoming an EMD is an exciting and very rewarding profession. \nSeveral of our communicators have made TCAD a home \nfor years.
